Happy New Year – 2018 – Belfast Photographer

Well Happy New Year to everyone!
Ive just realised I havent made a blog post at all in 2017 and my last blog post was about my hand surgery so it looks like it killed me!
I can just assure you all that I am in fact not dead and that 2017 was perhaps the busiest Ive ever been as a photographer.
So busy I didnt have time to write any epic blog posts or even any short ones.
I did spend a lot of time away from Belfast, Northern Ireland this year and had a superb trip to the US back in May in time to make America Great Again (blog posts will be backfilled for this one) and yes I did meet President Trump (well I saw his motorcade rush past if that counts).

I also spent a fair bit of time both in England and down south this year (Republic of Ireland to those outside the island or Northern Ireland) trying to formulate a business survival plan post Brexit and even with the ever changing business goalposts Im in a position to offer business continuity post Brexit to all my clients regardless of where they are based GB, Ireland or further afield. I will produce another blog post on this in its entirety.

Ive also updated my radharcimages site which will also ensure continuity there.

Away from photography in 2017 I did a superb barista coffee making course, which Im sure I wasnt meant to sample each and every one of the 24 cappuccinos/lattes/macciatos/espresso/cortados that I made but I didnt sleep for a couple of days after that!
I also invested in a local brewery in 2016 and joined their members committee. To get a better appreciation of that business I went on a start a brewery course back in Feb/March 2017. Ive been developing recipes ever since. Now you understand why there have been no blog posts in 2017!

The commercial photography side of the business continues to grow with increasing interest from companies in the rest of the UK and Ireland in particular. This will continue post Brexit and currently all payments in either pounds, euros and dollars will continue. I havent embraced bitcoin payments yet but will accept gold and silver!

The commercial headshot and business portrait side of the business has continued steady growth again this year with differing portraits for web and social media use one of the fastest growing sectors of the industry. I will do a blog post on this later.

So yes Im still alive, another year older, supposedly another year wiser and Id just like to wish all my previous, current and future clients (and anyone else reading this) a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year.
Joe
